Thorntons Chocolates from Home Goods

Not much of a review here.  We picked this up amongst the Christmas madness at Home Goods in Clifton Park.

cheap, sweet treat

It wasn’t expensive and promised “delicious dark favourites”, so what the heck.

Nice variety, some familiar, some not

$4.99 for a nice (?) box of British choccies?  Sure.  Especially with some interesting looking flavors.  Honeycomb Crisp.  Turkish Delight.  All in dark chocolate?  OK.

Dark and well packaged

They’re really nice looking.  Plenty of protective packaging so they all were in great shape.  An insert with pictures and a description so you know what you’re getting and they’re all easily identifiable by shape or design.

A cursory online search tells me that Thorntons is a long-established British chocolate company that doesn’t seem to specialize in ultra-high end chocolate.  Still, these were decent enough, especially for five bucks.  The fillings are decent enough, some flavor, smooth.  The chocolate’s fine, no unpleasant aftertaste but nothing too exciting.

If you see another box of these floating around at Home Goods or elsewhere, for the price they’re fun and fine.  Go for it.
