Found Chips Ahoy Birthday Frosting and Oreo Creme filled cookies

Hey, look what I finally found.  I’ve been looking way too hard for these Chips Ahoy! Birthday Frosting filled cookies ever since I saw that Nick from On Second Scoop had seen them at Price Chopper since he doesn’t live that far from me.  Several Price Choppers, a Hannaford, two Walmarts…finally went back to one of the Price Choppers today and lookie here!

Two great tastes (x2), but will they taste great together?

I was pretty surprised to see them next to Oreo Creme filled Chips Ahoy!, which I’d not had a hint of (although Marvo has a picture of them up now).  So, of course I had to get both.  Let’s get right to it, since (spoiler alert!) they’re not worth spending much time on.

There they be.

There they be.

This layers of white creme inside.

Opening the bags, they smell like Chewy Chips Ahoy!  Sweet, unnatural.  So, ok, how do they taste?  They taste basically exactly like the fake chocolate chip cookies that Chewy Chips Ahoy always taste like.  I couldn’t really get a hint of much of any sort of creme in the Oreo Creme flavor.  I tried to sort of separate the cookie to get at the creme, but it didn’t really work.  Maybe if they were double stuffed it might have worked.

The Birthday Frosting filled had a sort of hint of super sweet birthday cake frosting that you find in most ‘birthday cake frosting’ flavored things.  So it was a bit sweeter than the Oreo Creme or a plain Chips Ahoy! and you can sort of taste the filling.  It’s definitely a bit softer than the Oreo Creme, which makes sense.  I didn’t hate these.  I bet I could make better, though.

In conclusion, look again at the packages and see how much creme is stuffed in these?  Yeah, that’s a load of crap.

An idea I was excited about, excited enough to make special trips to multiple stores and they’re just WAY not worth it.
